Dr. Michael Miloro received his undergraduate education at the University of Rochester. He completed his dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and medical school and postgraduate residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He is currently Professor of Clinical  Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Miloro is the 2012 recipient of the pretigious Arnold K. Maislen Memorial Award presented by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York University for his major contributions to the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Miloro participates in basic and clinical research, resident education and training, and he has also published extensively in the dental and medical literature.  Dr. Miloro lectures nationally and internationally. Dr. Miloro serves on the Editorial Board of the “Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” and the “Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Radiology, and Endodontics” journal.

Dr. Miloro is an Editor of several textbooks in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including “Peterson’s Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,” “Management of Complications in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,” and “Trigeminal Nerve Injuries.”

Dr. Miloro has clinical and research interests in orthognathic surgery, distraction osteogenesis, surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), trigeminal nerve repair, maxillofacial trauma, reconstructive jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, as well as wisdom tooth extraction, bone grafting, and dental implant placement. Most of these procedures employ the use of 3-D reconstruction and surgical planning to acheive a precise and ideal surgical result.
